Baked Fennel

Goes fantastically with any meat or fish.
  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.
  2. Cut tops of fennel and slice finely, reserving the leaves. Jamie usually slices each bulb from top to root and into 4 pieces, but not important.
  3. Throw all ingredients except reserved fennel leaves into baking dish.
  4. Rip off some greaseproof paper, run it under cold water and scrunch it up to make it soft. Place it snugly over and around the fennel, not the actual dish. This bakes and steams it at the same time
  5. Cook in preheated oven for 20 mins or until tender. Scatter with fennel leaves before serving.
