Lemon Syrup Cake

  1. Cream butter, vanilla, sugar together
  2. add eggs one at a time, beating well
  3. sift baking powder and plain flour onto mixture and fold in
  4. add enough milk to give a "soft dropping" consistency.
  5. Spoon into tin and cook 35-40mins @ 180°C
  6. Heat sugar and lemon juice in pan until sugar dissolves
  7. Pour over cake, and let cool before removing from tin
